Kerastase Hair Coach - Is Your Hair Brush Smart Enough?
BEAUTY NEWS | 3 January 2017
Fed up of fighting your way through frizz and getting tied up in tangles? Healthy hair brush technique (that’s brushing your hair without pulling half of it out) is a skill. So it’s hardly surprising that a professional hairdresser can work their way expertly through your tresses with a brush and not remove a single strand.
The brush automatically vibrates to let you know when you’re grooming too vigorously.
The big news in the haircare world is that cosmetic giant, L’Oreal, has recognised this common brushing issue and come up with a new ‘Smart’ hairbrush. Unlike your ordinary brush, this one’s designed to minimise damage and split ends by analysing your hair brushing technique and assessing the condition of your hair. The ‘Kerastase Hair Coach’ comes with an in-built microphone that counts your brush strokes and records the sound of your hair breaking as you brush. Clever little conductivity sensors tell it whether your hair is dry or wet and the brush automatically vibrates to let you know when you’re grooming too vigorously. That’s not all. This super-hairbrush also links to an app, which builds up a profile of your haircare habits, records the condition of your hair and even recommends products.
L’Oreal are yet to set a UK launch date for this high tech hair tool but we’re told it will retail for around £160. In case you want to start saving…?
